Story behind the song
I would like to dedicate this song to anyone that has lost the unimaginable. We die with them, and the road back can be hard.
Lyrics
Waking up to another day, sunlight in my head. Hoping that these blues give way, remembering what He said. "Each day is a sacred thing, just look up in the sky" Looking back at how my life has changed, these days gone by. Now I see how it’s supposed to be, don’t have to like it much. Just the way life is treating me, I feel I need a crutch. Now each day is a sacred thing, but I keep asking why. Why all my friends have slipped away, these days gone by. These long, and lonely heartbreaking days, My life has changed, These Days Gone By Oh how I need to see the sky, Oh how my life has changed, These Days Gone By. Waking up to another day, sunlight in my head. Hoping that these blues give way, remembering what He said. “Each day is a sacred thing, just look up in the sky” Looking back at how my life has changed, These Days Gone By I can see how it’s supposed to be, I still don’t like it much. Time to take life standing up, time to toss the crutch. Because each day’s a sacred thing, I no longer wonder why. And I’ll live my life standing tall, upon these days gone by.
